About WLYP
Meeting the Need of Connecting Young Professionals in Our Area
The WLYP is comprised of young minded individuals throughout the greater Williamsport area who are dedicated to making the communities throughout Lycoming County stimulating places to live, work, and grow. Members of the WLYP strive to enhance the quality of life in order to attract and retain young professional leadership to continue future growth and success in Lycoming County.
How It All Began
In the spring of 2006, a small group of individuals met to discuss how the greater Williamsport area is seeing a consistent decline in retaining young talent. Many high school students seek out their higher education outside of the Williamsport area, and many local college graduates search for jobs elsewhere.
In association with the Pennsylvania Young Professionals and through a partnership with the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, the WLYP was formed.
Our Vision
Williamsport-Lycoming Young Professionals strives to enhance the quality of life in Lycoming County in order to attract and retain young talent and leadership.
Our Mission
Williamsport-Lycoming Young Professionals exists to provide young professionals with opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals through social, professional and personal development, and community service events.
